Door Warranty
RUSTIC DÉCOR STORE’S LIMITED WARRANTY
All Rustic Décor Store Wood Doors, and Gates, hereafter referred to as “Products” or “Doors” are warranted for 12 months from the date of Customer Receipt to be of good materials and workmanship, and at the time of shipment to be free of defects that would render them unfit for normal and ordinary recommended usage. Should any product fail to conform to this written warranty, Rustic Décor Store shall, at its option either repair the product, ship a comparable replacement product, in the same general condition as the original product except for the discovered defect, or issue a refund for the original purchase price paid to Rustic Décor Store for such product.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, RUSTIC DÉCOR STORE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS OF LABOR, INSTALLATION, OR FINISHING OR REFINISHING OF THE REPLACEMENT OR ORIGINAL PRODUCT, OR FOR ANY OTHER COSTS RELATING TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER AND CURRENT OWNER OF THE PRODUCT, AUTHORIZED TO MAKE THE WARRANTY CLAIM. DO NOT RETURN ANY PRODUCT WITHOUT A RETURN AUTHORIZATION.
ALL VISIBLE AND WARRANTIBLE DEFECTS MUST BE REPORTED TO RUSTIC DÉCOR STORE UPON YOUR RECEIPT OF THE PRODUCT AND BEFORE THE PRODUCT IS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED. ANY SHIPPING DAMAGE MUST BE REPORTED DIRECTLY TO THE SHIPPING COMPANY BEFORE THE CUSTOMER/PURCHASER OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES SIGNATURE(S) ARE PLACED UPON THE DELIVERY RECEIPT DOCUMENTATION. DO NOT ACCEPT DAMAGED GOODS FROM THE FREIGHT COMPANY WITHOUT NOTING SAID DAMAGE ON ALL DELIVERY DOCUMENTS YOU SIGN. IT IS YOUR REPONSIBILITY TO MAKE CLAIM FOR SHIPPING DAMAGE DIRECTLY TO THE SHIPPER. IT IS OUR POLICY THAT TITLE SHALL MOVE TO YOU UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR PAYMENT BY US AND UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR COD SHIPMENT BY THE SHIPPING COMPANY.
THE FOLLOWING SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP AND ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY:
1. Expansion and contraction caused by temperature and humidity variations which is a normal process in Wood Products. Such conditions may cause tiny cracks, or slight warping at the joints may occur. These deviations are not considered flaws. Most doors are shipped unsealed and unfinished and the natural characteristics of the wood movement cannot be the subject of a warranty claim against Rustic Décor Store.
2. Warp in any product wider than 42" or taller than 96".
3. Warp for any nominal 1 3/8" thick by 36" wide by 84" high or smaller door, not exceeding 1/4" in the plane of the door. Warp for any nominal 1 3/4" thick door greater than 36" wide by 84" high, not exceeding 3/8" in the plane of the door.
4. Temporary warp, the common warping that occurs as wood products adjust to local humidity and temperature conditions shall not be cause for a nonconformity warranty claim.
5. Improperly stored Doors before pre-hanging, finishing, and/or installing. Doors must be stored stacked flat, off of the ground on a pallet or otherwise, and must be stored in a climate controlled building. Doors stored in an open-air construction area, without exterior walls, doors, and/or windows will void this warranty. (Note that a home that is under construction and being sheet rocked and mudded will have a very high humidity level which will affect unfinished doors and void this warranty).
6. Improperly hung or improperly installed doors are not covered by this warranty.
7. Any Interior Door that is used as an Exterior Door is not covered by this warranty.
8. Failure of owner to perform normal maintenance and care.
9. Doors that have not had all edges, especially top and bottom, sealed immediately after fitting and hanging (finishing must be completed within 14 days of receipt of doors). And any condition arising from the neglect or failure to properly finish & maintain the door on all these edges (receipt or invoice from finisher showing date will be required for warranty to be valid).
10. Natural variations in the color or texture of the wood and other small imperfections.
11. Damage caused by others or by a cause beyond the control of Rustic Décor Store including but not limited to damage caused by improper storage, misuse, abuse, accident, mishandling or by fire, flood, earthquake, storm, tornado or other acts of nature.
12. Any panel shrinkage or surface checks which are less than 1/16” wide and /or 2” tall, and part of the normal distressing of the door.
13. Doors less than 1 3/4" thick or any interior door used in an exterior application.
14. Knots in doors classified as knotty doors; Small knots in Alder doors (these doors are often referred to as Select Alder);
15. Doors which are exposed to direct sun light, and rain, and not protected by adequate overhang and exposed to extreme weather conditions. Adequate overhang is defined as an overhang within 18” of the top of the door projecting a distance from the structure at least 8 feet. Dark finishes will allow absorption of heat into wood and speed finish breakdown.
16. Any door with "solid stiles (stiles not laminated).
17. Repairs/Installs by personnel other than workers of Rustic Décor Store shall void warranty.
18. Pre-finished doors will not be warranted for finish when shipped, although the normal warranty still applies for the doors themselves. A touch up kit can be provided for pre-finished doors.
19. Jambs which have been ordered as "knock down jambs" meaning that the doors have been pre-hung and the jambs have been taken apart to lay flat for shipping. Rustic Décor Store cannot assume liability for correctly and accurately reassembling the jambs.
20. Damages incurred during shipping if the customer fails to look over the doors with the driver of the freight carrier to inspect the shipment, and notify driver of said damages at time of delivery.
21. Damage caused by extreme temperature buildup where a storm door is utilized. Storm doors must be vented to eliminate temperature buildup.
22. Rust or discoloration on any metal surfaces.
23. The appearance of any factory finishes after a period of six months from invoice date.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXTENDED TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER OF THE PRODUCT OR TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER OF THE STRUCTURE INTO WHICH SUCH PRODUCTS ARE INSTALLED. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SETS FORTH RUSTIC DÉCOR STORE’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY FOR ITS DOOR AND GATE PRODUCTS AND NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED APPLIES. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN SUCH CASE, THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY SHALL BE THE SAME AS THAT OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY STATED WITHIN THIS WARRANTY DOCUMENT.
